The historic town and Royal Scottish Burgh is home to the Duke Of Argyll, whose home - Inveraray Castle - is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the area.
This upper Loch Fyne village is one of the most popular for visitors and day trippers on the west coast, for those who venture by the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Inveraray is but a short distance further. Most bus routes stop at Inveraray that terminate at Oban, Campbeltown & Glasgow. Local tour coaches also stop at Inveraray.
Of the other attractions, probably the most popular is Inveraray Jail where there are actors and actresses playing convicts and staff which make a rich interactive experience. There is a woollen mill shop and a heritage museum too.
During the summer months it's just delightful to sit along the banks of Loch Fyne looking out to the simply beautiful landscape perhaps with some delicious fish and chips!
