Glenbarr Abbey Visitor Centre

SItuated half way along the Kintyre west coast, Glenbarr Visitor Centre is the grand home of the Macalisters (previously the home of the 5th laird of Glenbarr, Angus Macalister whom passed away recently (circa 2010)).

 

Items displayed include gloves worn by Mary Queen of Scots, clothing from the 19th century and more. A small gift shop and tea room are inside the home along with a short woodland walk in the grounds.

How to get there: Travel south along the A83 towards Campbeltown through Tarbert, Clachan and Muasdale continuing for another two miles. Glenbarr Abbey is approximately 12 miles north of Campbeltown.
