Overlooking Oban's harbour, dominating the skyline from the high street, Mccaigs Tower is a memorial to the family of McCaig, a local banker and was built at a time when there was high unemployment and thus also helped to give people work.
McCaigs tower was built in 1897 and took three years. The walls are some 2 feet thick on this hand built tower and rise to between 9 and 14 metres high.
The inner courtyard is landscaped and provides a fantastic viewpoint out across Oban harbour and out to the isles.
During the visitor season McCaig's Tower is floodlit and provides an instant reminder of Oban on many calendars and postcards of the area.
Send us in your photos and stories of when you visited McCaigs Tower.
