Kilmartin Museum is one of mid Argyll's most visited museum and historic attractions.
Some of the earliest settlements in Argyll were at Kilmartin with various standing stones, cairns and ancient artifacts preserved and found at the site. The museum takes you on a journey through Argyll's history and the importance of mid Argyll.
Kilmartin village has more than 350 ancient monuments within a six-mile radius - 150 of them are prehistoric. Such an extraordinary concentration of monuments has distinguished Kilmartin Glen as an area of outstanding archaeological importance and one of Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscapes.
Kilmartin House Museum is an award-winning, world-class centre established to protect, investigate and interpret this internationally important archaeological landscape and the artefacts found here.
The museum regularly stages temporary exhibitions and runs a programme of events throughout the year.
There are also lots of great carved stones next door at Kilmartin Church.
